Q: When will the new website be launched?
A: Our target date to switch everyone to Version 2.0 is now August 17th.
Q: Will the website address change when the new version is released?
A: No, the web address will remain http://www.epwi.net
Q: Will my username and password stay the same as the current site.
A: Yes, your username and password stay the same as the current site.
Q: Will I need to upgrade my computer or browser software to use the Version 2.0?
A: Maybe – Version 2.0 of EPWI’s web order entry does require Internet Explorer 7.0 or higher. This is a free upgrade that you can obtain here. You will also need to make sure your operating system is Window XP, Vista or Windows 7.
Q: What do I do if my screen doesn’t look right?
A: Version 2.0 is built around a screen resolution of 1024 x 768. You can check and/or change this setting in your display properties on the “settings” tab.
Q: My Firefox browser hasn’t worked in the past. Will I be able to use it with Version 2.0?
A: Yes, Firefox now works with all features of Version 2.0.
Q: Your original website makes me keep signing in whenever I leave an order open and want to add to it. Will that still happen?
A: The timeout issue has been addressed. You should be able to keep an order open all day without being required to sign back in to add to or finalize an order.
Q: I really like the 2 different pricing views in Version 1. Will Version 2 retain this feature?
A: Absolutely, plus it is enhanced so that it now works in all screens including kits, stock status, etc.
NOTE: When setting up these views, please keep in mind that View 1 should be set to show your pricing. View 2 should be used to display the pricing you want your customers to see.
Q: What happens if I have questions that are not answered here?
A: Help is just a phone call away. You can talk to your salesman who has been using Version 2.0 for over a month; you can call your local branch manager who has also been using Version 2.0 for the same time; or you can call 800-394-7299 to talk to someone at headquarters who should be able to answer your questions or get the answers for you.
Q: What are some of the changes in Version 2.0 I should be aware of?
A: Probably the most noticeable change will be in the look and feel of Version 2.0. It uses the latest in programming which allowed us to offer greater features to enhance your experience with EPWI’s Order Entry Version 2.0. Version 2.0 now has the look and feel of the most popular websites that you visit and use daily.
Some of the highlights are:
- Navigation
- Choices are at top of the page in the EPWI banner instead of down left side of the page
- Drop down menus appear when you hover your cursor over a choice
- Log on is at top of home page. Log off is under My Account
- Stock Status/Online Ordering Kit Building:
These processes appear unchanged but are greatly improved.- View 1 and 2 pricing display logic now works everywhere including throughout the kitting process
- Order Summary Panel on right side of screen
- Expandable Kit Information Panel on right of screen
- Dynamic pricing as kit components are added/changed
- Ability to reload a kit from an order and update
- Quotes – you can now name, save and recall quotes
Use this feature on specific jobs, “Bob’s 454” or to reproduce your favorite kit configuration- Create an order as you normally would by configuring a kit, adding parts to your order, etc.
- When viewing your order you now have a “Save Order as Quote” option at bottom of page
- Click Save Order as Quote
- Enter name of quote in Quote Description window
- Click Save Quote
- To recall saved quotes
- Click My Order
- Click View Quotes (Note: You will not have an option to View Quotes unless you have already saved a quote)
- Select the quote you wish to work with
- Load
- Delete
- After loading a quote, you can modify it if you wish before submitting it as an order
- Converting a quote to an order does not delete the quote
- Modifying a quote before submitting it as an order does not modify the original saved quote
- To make modifications of a quote permanent, click Save Order as Quote and select the same name to overwrite the original quote
- You are limited to a single quote or order in process (open) at a time, not both
- Entering a kit # in the Stock Status window is a shortcut to the kit configuration window
- View Invoices
- Click on My Account
- Select Invoices/Statements
- Your Statement is the default page to be displayed
- Click Search Invoices button in lower right corner of the page
- 101 invoices will be displayed with latest one at the top of the list
- To view a single invoice, click on the red invoice number
- This will view that invoice
- Return to the invoice list by clicking your browser’s Back button
- To view multiple invoices, click on the box to the left of each invoice to be viewed
- Click View Selected Invoices at the top of the page
- Scroll through the selected invoices to view the details
- Return to the invoice list by clicking your browser’s Back button
- View earlier invoices by clicking on View Invoices Before xxxxxx date
- View pending invoices by clicking on View Invoices After (current date)
- Multiple information panels
- Panels on right side of screen
- Static – they remain in place as you scroll up and down in screens such as the kit build
- Expandable to allow you to view key data such as your kit details
- Have their own scroll bar so you can see windows not visible without changing the main window.
- Panels on right side of screen
- Data downloads – will be specific to each user.
- Must be setup through your salesman
- Once you download a price sheet, our system will track it and send you an email notice when any major price changes take place.
- Enhanced View 1 View 2 pricing display options. Designed to let you share product information but not your pricing with your customers. This logic now works throughout the entire kit building process including adding/substituting parts. View 1 is designed for your use including cost and view 2 is intended to share limited pricing with customers. These parameters are set under
My Account/edit account settings.
